2025 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship Classes and Supplemental Rules Finalized
The 2025 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship Classes and Supplemental Rules are now official and available for viewing @ www.MXSports.com.
No changes were made to the classes, other than the name of the WMX class has reverted back to “Women”, as a courtesy to the WMX Championship Series which will now run in conjunction with six rounds of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship.
Likewise, no substantive changes were made to the Supplemental Rules.
A couple items of note:
Last year, several foreign or non-US citizen riders were disqualified for failure to obtain eligibility approval from the AMA prior to participating at the Area Qualifier level, in violation of Supplement Rule A.9. This rule prohibits any foreign citizen, with the exception of Canadians, from participating in a “C” class. Foreign riders must complete an AMA International License Eligibility Application BEFORE competing in the program.
Further, it is important to point out that challenges to a racer’s eligibility must be received by the AMA no later than June 20, 2025, pursuant to Supplemental Rule 1.10. After this date, eligibility challenges will be accepted only at the sole discretion of AMA, as it is important to remove ineligible riders from the program as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary financial costs.
