Lucas Oil Products, Inc. kicks off year one as presenting sponsor of the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch with “Dunks for Downey,” using a dunk tank to generate proceeds benefiting the Brett Downey Safety Foundation.
Brett Downey Safety Foundation is a nonprofit organization that has pioneered the standardized use of safety lights, flagger instruction, and track guidelines to ensure the safety of all riders at amateur motocross events across the nation. “Rider safety is something we can all agree upon,” said Jason Witt, founder of the Lucas Legion Rider Support Program. “With the dunk tank we not only combat the notorious Tennessee heat, but we shed light on a cause that we sometimes take for granted until tragedy strikes. Lucas Oil is dedicated to focusing on safety in a positive way that brings us together and keeps our riders safe.”
At the Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, dunks start at a minimum of $5, with higher quotas set for high-profile dunkees. Every entry receives a free bottle of the Lucas Oil Product of your choice, and all entries over $100 receive a Lucas Oil SC28 Remote Control Mini Truck. Fans, riders, and sponsors alike can nominate the individuals they want to see in the dunk chair and help raise the funds necessary to reach dunk quotas for a good cause. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go towards the Brett Downey Safety Foundation, promoting rider safety at amateur events nationwide.
“With the help of Lucas Oil, we will be able to bring rider safety to the spotlight at Loretta’s,” said Ricky Rickords, Brett Downey Safety Ambassador. “The demand for our services is at an all-time high and Dunks for Downey is the perfect way to benefit the foundation as we continually seek expansion."
