Amateur National Motocross Championship for 35th Annual Event
Top-Notch Medical Assistance to be Provided 

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (July 15, 2016) – MX Sports is proud to announce a new partnership with the Fit-N-Wise Sports Medicine Team, a Wise Medical Health System service, for the 35th Annual Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by AMSOIL the week of August 1-6 at the renown Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

Under the direction of Event Medical Director Dr. James McGhee, the Fit-N-Wise Sports Medicine Team will join forces with the on-track Infield Medical Team, consisting of local fire fighters, paramedics and EMT’s with motorcycle riding/race experience, and the Facility Medical Team provided by American Medical Response (AMR), a nation-wide ambulance service. In addition, AirEvac will once again be onsite to provide medical helicopter services throughout the week.

“We are honored to be part of the official medical team for the 2016 Loretta Lynn National,” said Dr. Tad Montgomery. “Our goal is to insure that riders have a comprehensive and professional medical service available trackside. We are excited to offer more specialized medical attention than has ever been available for amateur riders competing at this level. Our orthopedic experts aim to provide top notch medical services to optimize safety at the National.”

The Fit-N-Wise Sports Medicine Team staff composed of an orthopedic surgeon, emergency room physician and doctor of physical therapy, has extensive training in the sport of motocross and will work out of an on-site mobile clinic equipped with treatment rooms, x-ray machines, exercise machines and physical therapy modalities.

Riders will be in competent hands whether it comes to casting, splinting, bracing, taping or wound care management. The Fit-N-Wise Sports Medicine Team will provide evaluation of acute and lingering injuries for participants in an attempt to keep the riders in competition, utilizing their vast experience treating race-related injuries.

This extensive medical team will be joined by Ricky Rickords and the Brett Downey Safety Foundation, as well as key MX Sports Pro Racing technical staff, to advise track flaggers and provide infield safety monitoring. Together the medical and infield staff at the AMA Amateur National will provide unprecedented medical assistance for national competitors.

The National class structure includes classes for youth riders on 50cc bikes all the way up to vet and masters classes. The race will follow a three-moto format over the course of one week. Racers have previously qualified at Area Qualifiers and then Regional Championships in order to participate in the National event.

About the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship

The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship is the world's largest and most prestigious amateur motocross racing program.
