SUBJECT: COMPETITION BULLETIN 2015-6.1:

Revised Eligibility Rules for Women Classes - Corrected

It is necessary to revise the 2015 AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship National Supplemental Rules with regard to the Women Classes: Women (16+) All-Star and Women (14+).  The new rule clarifies the eligibility of AMA “B” classified riders to participate in both women classes, if age eligible.

The revised rule provides:

4. a. The following women riders are only eligible for the Women (16+) All-Star class:

i. Riders placing in the top 10 overall in the Women (14+) class at the previous National who are 16 years or older as of January 1 of the current year;

ii. Riders issued a WMX or FIM license while also holding an AMA “A” classification; and

iii. Riders holding an AMA “A” or “B” classification.

b.   The following women riders are eligible for the Women (14+) class:

i. Riders holding an AMA “B” or “C” classification; and

ii. Formerly-licensed WMX riders with an AMA “B” classification, unless otherwise ineligible.

c. For purposes of clarification, no “A” class riders are permitted to compete in any “Youth” classes, i.e., current licensed WMX riders are not permitted to compete in any Youth class.  AMA Racing Rule, Section 1.1.E.1.e.

d. For purposes of clarification, riders holding an AMA “B” classification are eligible for both the Women (16+) All-Star and Women (14+) classes, if age eligible and unless restricted by the provisions of 4.a.i. above.

Please refer to the 2015 WMX Supplemental Rules for WMX license eligibility criteria.

Although MX Sports prefers not to make rule changes during the race season, in this case the clarification is necessary to avoid any confusion.
