Subject: Comp. Bulletin 2012-2: Holeshot Devices in the Stock Class
It is necessary to make a change to the 2012 Supplemental Rules concerning the use of holeshot devices in the stock class. Currently Section B.5(f) states the following:
Aftermarket front fork holeshot devices and metal hand guards are NOT permitted.
The revised rule will now be:
Front fork holeshot devices (aftermarket or OEM) and metal hand guards are NOT permitted.
Riders that may have used the OEM holeshot device prior to this rule change will not be subject to any penalties or sanctions. However, further use of the device during the qualifying process or at the National is prohibited and will be subject to penalty.
Although MX Sports prefers not to make rule changes during the race season, in this case the clarification is necessary to avoid any confusion.
