The Area Qualifiers serve as the first step in qualifying for the world’s largest and most prestigious amateur motocross championship. The Regional Championships then serve as the next step to seed riders into the National Championship at Loretta Lynn Ranch. Only riders who finish in a qualifying position at a Regional Championship are eligible to race the National.
“As always, we’re excited to have our Area Qualifiers and Regional Championships at the premiere racing venues in America,” said Director of MX Sports, Tim Cotter. “Our goal at MX Sports is to schedule events relative to our rider base, being mindful that our racing families often travel a great distance to participate in our events.”
Back by popular demand, seven of the premier Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship tracks will return to the amateur national motocross schedule in 2012. The schedule also boasts new venues such as South of the Border in South Carolina, CLCR MX in Indiana and Romp MX in Missouri, and includes a stop in Hawaii for the first time ever in Loretta Lynn history.
The 2012 Red Bull Amateur National Motocross Championship will take place Sunday, July 29 - Saturday, August 4 at Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. For more information, visit the series website at www.mxsports.com.

About the Red Bull Amateur National Motocross Championship
The Red Bull Amateur National Motocross Championship is the world's largest and most prestigious amateur motocross racing program. The national qualifying program consists of 50 Area Qualifiers (February through May) and 12 Regional Championships (June), hosted at select motocross facilities across the country. The qualifying system culminates in the National Final (first week of August) hosted annually since 1982 at the home of country music star Loretta Lynn in Hurricane Mills, Tenn. Nearly 20,000 racers attempt to qualify in 36 classes for the 1,446 available positions at the National. Christened "The World's Greatest Motocross Vacation", the National event serves as a launch pad for some of the biggest names in professional motocross and supercross, including Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto, and Ryan Dungey. The national program is produced by MX Sports, Inc., a West Virginia-based race production company. For more information, please visit www.mxsports.com.
