We received rain overnight and the parking lot will be inaccessible until tomorrow afternoon. Our pit area is all grass and will need a day to dry out. The track is very sandy with excellent drainage, and will be in great shape for racing Sunday and Monday.

The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, and the journey to this prestigious amateur event continues for the sport’s up-and-coming riders. The first Regional Championships begin May 28th and will continue every weekend until June 26th. The regional winners will then compete at the National Championships held at Loretta Lynn Ranch on August 1st - 6th.

Regional Championships Begin This Weekend for 2016 Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship

The final step in qualifying for the 35th Annual Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, presented by AMSOIL, begins this weekend in two regions across the United States. Amateur racers in the Southeast and both amateur and youth racers in the Northwest will continue their quest to compete in the world’s largest and most prestigious amateur motocross race at the iconic Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.

Since opening in 2011 ChilliTown MX has played host to many large scale events but this past weekend’s Mid-East Area Qualifier for Loretta Lynn’s Championship race proved to be one to remember. The weekend started out with open practice on Friday where more than 300 riders came to try their hand at the new track layout and see what new and exciting changes had been made to the facility.

Malvern MX Area Qualifier Race Report

Malvern Motocross Raceway in Northeastern Ohio played host this past weekend to not only the second Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier in the Mid-East region, but also to some extreme and adverse inclement weather conditions. High winds, pouring rains, low temperatures and snowfall wouldn’t prevent track owner Jason Rogers and the entire Malvern staff from providing riders and motocross families from all over the world with a phenomenally professional program.

Another chapter in the Road to Loretta’s was added last weekend at Lincoln Trail Motosports in Casey, IL and the story got intense. It was clear with 1151 rider signups on Saturday and Sunday, 325 for practice on Friday, and Mother Nature unleashing here fury; apparently, it was going to be a long day for the track crew and personnel.
