Husqvarna Motorcycles Brand Ambassador, Mike Brown, raced the 36th Annual Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship at the Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, TN. Brown signed up to compete in the Senior 40+ class as well as the Junior 25+ class aboard his FC 450.

Mike Brown started off his Loretta racing with a bang in the Senior 40+ class by obtaining the first gate pick. As the gate dropped, he launched off the line claiming the Bell Helmets Holeshot and never looked back. He finished ahead of the competition by 15 seconds. As Moto 2 approached, Mike Brown went out on his sight lap and was feeling confident with how he was feeling on his motorcycle. He lined up, first gate pick and claimed another Holeshot with over a two bike-length gap. He then proceeded to pull away from the rest of the field and by lap two clocked the fastest lap time at the ranch. He held this blistering fast pace for the remainder of the race and finished with an 18 second lead. Moto 3 proved to be no different. Brown went all out at the start for the Holeshot and by the halfway point of the race his lead over 2nd place was over 25 seconds. He continued to charge into finishing 1-1-1 for all three motos and ultimately won the title of 2017 Loretta Lynn’s Senior 40+ Champion!

The Junior 25+ class was the other feat that Mike Brown was looking to conquer. Moto 1 was a tough start and Brown rounded the first corner in fourth position. He put his head down and charged forward passing all the way to second place. On lap two, Brown made the pass for the lead and held it to the checkered flag. Rain had saturated the course the night before Moto 2 and Mike Brown gave the start everything he had, rounding the first corner in the first place position. He opened up a big lead and rode the top spot to the finish. In true Mike Brown fashion, he raced Moto 3 with such force that he moved quickly from third place on the first lap to first place for all remaining laps going 1-1-1 and claiming his second championship of the week in the Junior 25+ class!

Jordan Bailey races both Open Pro Sprt and 250 A finishing his best of second overall for the 250 A class.

Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Amateur team rider Jordan Bailey competed in the Open Pro Sport aboard his FC 250. He had a rough start in the first moto but was able to pick up the pace as the races progressed, finishing sixth in Moto 2 and first in Moto 3, claiming fifth overall for the class. Bailey also raced 250 A. He claimed fifth in both Moto 1 and 2, and second in Moto 3 and second for the 250 A class.

Jalek Swoll started off racing Schoolboy 1 riding with skill and confidence that led him to finish in second in Moto 1 and first in Moto 2! Unfortunate problems with the motorcycle caused a DNF in Moto 3 and led to a 13th overall finishing position. Swoll continued his 2017 Loretta Lynn’s racing by competing in the 125cc (12-16) class. He won Moto 1, but things took a turn for the worst as Swoll had a DNF in Moto 2 and a DNS in Moto 3.
