March 29th & 30th Cycle Ranch in Floresville, Texas was proud to host one of the South Central Loretta Lynn’s Area Qualifiers. With a weekend full of stacked gates and some of the fastest riders in the nation, the very deserving group of riders that qualified all show the potential to perform well at Loretta’s in August. Throughout our weekend at Cycle Ranch, we had well over 500 entries with a few riders who had the raw speed and potential to dominate the South Central races and possibly win a championship this year. Some of this group includes:

Ryan Surratt (Corona, CA) —“

Ryan possessed the talents it takes to make a challenge all weekend at Cycle Ranch. After winning a title last year at Loretta Lynn’s, Ryan is back at it and ready to qualify and head back to Tennessee. With a bad start in one of his motos at Cycle Ranch, Ryan hit a fence and was set way back during his race, but with his determination and good sportsmanship he went on to pass a few racers and put down some hard laps to put himself in 8th for a great overall qualifying position. If this racer doesn’t show his skills through his extremely fast lap times, he will show you with his relentless efforts.

Larry Reyes Jr. (Houston, TX) —“

After racing hard the previous week for the James Stewart Freestone Spring Championship, JR unfortunately suffered a small crack in his collarbone. Jr. knows how to really tough it out when it matters though, as the young racer qualified in his 65 classes and showed the true grit he goes through that makes him a champion. After Jr. won his classes, it appears that if the young rider can win hurt, he can walk away from a few members of his competition with ease come time for Loretta’s.

Curren Thurman (Alvin, TX) —“

Curren Thurman has been on fire in the Texas region lately. After debuting at his first A class race in December and finishing behind top pro Mitchell Oldenburg, Curren showed he had the potential to finish right up front with the top racers in our sport today. Heading back to Cycle Ranch for the Loretta Lynn Area Qualifier, Curren won all three of his classes with ease, taking 5 wins in the 6 motos he entered and qualifying in every class available to the Alvin native. After grabbing a fifth overall last year at Loretta’s in B class, Curren looks to carry his momentum into a championship this year.

Kaitlyn Morrow (Houston, TX) —“

Kaitlyn has always been a presence in our sport as one of the fastest women and one of the most humble racers. Kaitlyn lived up to both at Cycle Ranch as she won both of her motos in Women’s 14+ & tried her best in B class. Kaitlyn will be back for more this year at the regional and looks to be the first woman in B class at Loretta Lynn’s while making an effort to grab her first championship.

Pierce Knight (Richmond, TX) —“

Pierce Knight really put on a show this weekend for the Cycle Ranch spectators as he went on to win his Supermini 2 class and sit on the podium for all his classes every single moto. With full gates and nothing but determination, Pierce looked to put himself in a qualifying position for the regional and he did just that. Knight showed that aboard his KTM he could do anything, and with good moto finishes all the day the kid showed his true talent to everyone.

These six riders are just a few who went out with a bang at Cycle Ranch at the Loretta Lynn’s Area Qualifier. With a ticket to the regionals in June, these riders are guaranteed to head to Loretta’s and grab themselves championships. Cycle Ranch not only put on an amazing race with full gates but is also putting out champions at the biggest amateur races of the year. Come ride with us!
