Aaron Plessinger Race Scholarship Offered to Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA
Amateur National Motocross Championship Competitors
$2000 to be Presented to Recipient

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (November 10, 2016) – Thousands of amateur racers take part in the Road to Lorettas every year in an attempt to secure just one of the 1,482 available gate positions. Former Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross champion, Aaron Plessinger, is pleased to announce the Aaron Plessinger Race Scholarship, in order to help assist these racers and give back to the National event that started his professional motocross career.

Aaron Plessinger first came onto the racing scene in 2004 in both the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship and the AMSOIL Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series.  After testing out off-road racing, Plessinger decided to fully devote himself to the 13-round GNCC series where he won four championships ranking from 65cc divisions to the Super Mini class. At the same time, Plessinger was also competing in the AMA Amateur National where he attended the prestigious event every year from 2004-2014 with the exception of 2010.

Plessinger then shifted his focus to motocross where he equally excelled and clinched two Loretta Lynn AMA Amateur National Championships while participating part-time in the GNCC series. Plessinger made his professional debut in 2015. In 2017, Plessinger will be contesting for the 250cc Supercross East and Motocross titles aboard his Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha-backed machine.

The Aaron Plessinger Race Scholarship puts the spotlight on dirt bike riders that excel in the classroom and on the racetrack. Composed of two options for both motorcycle off-road and motocross competitors, Aaron Plessinger will be donating a total of $2,000, with $1,000 going to each division. However, a recent partnership with Aaron’s grandmother and aunt will raise the total motocross portion to $2,000.

The review process will be spearheaded by MX Sports’ Roy Janson, Racer X’s Andrew Frederickson and the American Motorcyclist Association’s Kip Bigelow.
