MMX Racing to Host Both Northwest and Midwest Area Qualifiers

The first step to qualify for the 35th Annual Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, presented by AMSOIL, begins this weekend in two regions across the United States.

MMX Racing in Marysville, California will play host to the first two Area Qualifiers for both the Northwest and Midwest Regions this weekend, February 13 and 14.

“It is hard to believe that it’s that time again, now is the time for our Area Qualifier organizers to host the first step in the road to Loretta Lynn’s,” said MX Sports Director Tim Cotter. “The Area Qualifiers begin the season for our athletes, and provide an opportunity for the best facilities and organizers in America to showcase their race tracks to the top motocross athletes in America.”

The Area Qualifiers serve as the first step in qualifying for the world's largest and most prestigious amateur motocross championship. The Regional Championships then serve as the next step to seed riders into the National Championship. Only riders who finish in a qualifying position at a Regional Championship are eligible to race the National the week of August 1 – 6, 2016.

The competition will be intense, and we wish the competitors a safe and successful path to the championship."
