Rodney Smith to be Inducted into AMA Hall of Fame on October 17
Two-Time Loretta Lynn Competitor to be Recognized for Off-Road Excellence

On Saturday, October 17 in Orlando, Florida, the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) will welcome the Class of 2015 including Loretta Lynn National competitor and five-time Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) champion Rodney Smith into the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame. The AMA museum was founded in 1990 to provide a permanent home to the AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame, which celebrates and preserves the rich tradition of motorcycling in America through the recognition of the sport's greatest heroes.

Smith will be welcomed in the off-road category of inductees and has earned this esteemed award through his various accomplishments in the racing industry. Smith first earned recognition when he moved to the professional motocross ranks in 1982, and then as an international contender after claiming five Brazilian National Motocross Championships. He then returned to America in 1992 and continued his dominance in off-road racing claiming 13 AMA-sanctioned National Championship Series, including five GNCC titles, along with three AMA National Hare Scramble titles, and five AMA National Reliability Enduro Championships.
