Loretta Lynn’s AMA National Champions Recognized at 2014 AMA Championship Banquet

Over the weekend, top racers from the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship presented by AMSOIL, were in attendance for the AMA Championship Banquet in Columbus, Ohio. In addition to awarding Loretta Lynn’s Champions their 2014 AMA National No. 1 plates, the American Motorcyclist Association also recognized the season's best organizers and announced the 2014 AMA Athletes of the Year.

Following an impressive ending to his amateur racing career at the Rocky Mountain AMA Amateur Motocross National Championship at Loretta Lynn Ranch, 2014 Motocross Horizon Award winner R.J. Hampshire also won the AMA Grand Championship Athlete of the Year Award on Saturday. Hampshire won all six motos at the National Championship, claiming the 250 A and Open Pro Sport Championship titles.

“On behalf of MX Sports, we would like to congratulate R.J. on a successful amateur racing career and we would like to wish him the best in his professional endeavors,” said MX Sports Director Tim Cotter.

Jordan Jarvis, who won the Girls Jr. (9-13) championship at the AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship and the Girls (7-13) championship at the AMA Arenacross Grand Championship, was named the AMA Youth Racer of the Year.

Cotter added, “We are very proud of Jordan’s accomplishments and look forward to watching her climb through the ranks of Women’s motocross. And we would like to extend a big thank you to all of the AMA athletes for an astounding year of racing and we look forward to a great 2015 season.”
